Notice the difference in time and days for this camp. It is 3 days for 2.5 hrs/day Get ready for a colorful and rhythmic journey across the islands! The Caribbean Tap Tap Tour is all about big color, bold textures, and hands-on fun. We’re turning the studio into a tropical celebration as we build, paint, and embellish our way through a week of high-energy, island-inspired art. The Weekly Project Lineup: 3D Paper Mache Conga Drums: We’re going 3D! Artists will build their own conga drums using paper mache construction. Once dry, we’ll paint them with vibrant patterns and design custom drum heads to create a functional-style sculpture that brings the rhythm home. The "Tap Tap" Mixed Media Canvas: Inspired by the legendary, brightly decorated buses of Haiti, this project is a treasure hunter’s dream. We’ll layer decoupage and acrylics, then use paint pens and a "buffet" of artifacts—including old jewelry and junk drawer treasures—to give these canvases a personality all their own. Sunset Through the Wave Painting: Artists will capture the magic of the ocean in this technical painting project. We’ll explore color and light to show a tropical sunset glowing through the curve of a crashing wave. Foil Embossing & Diamond Art: These high-shine projects add the perfect shimmer to our week. Artists will create custom embossed foil pieces and sparkling diamond art keychains, which serve as a fun creative break between our larger layers. The Experience: This camp is designed to be a "no-pressure zone" where artists can find their "flow" to a soundtrack of island-inspired movie themes. With a focus on depth over speed, every artist has the time to get "in the zone" and create work they are truly proud of. What to Bring: Dress for the Mess: We’ll be working with paper mache, heavy adhesives, and plenty of paint. Please wear clothes that are ready for a splash of Caribbean color! Stay Hydrated: Please bring a labeled water bottle to each session
