Service Description

Intermediate Robotics C 6-week course for upper elementary students (Prerequisite: Beginning Robotics A & B) Think Like an Engineer. Build Like a Pro. Take your robotics skills to the next level! In this 6-week challenge, we’re moving away from "follow-the-steps" builds and diving into the high-tech world of Stability, Remote Control, and Mechanical Power. Using the LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor system, students will tackle three unique projects that mirror real-world technology—from self-balancing transportation to high-performance automotive engineering. The 6-Week Roadmap: Weeks 1 & 2: The Gravity Defier (The Balance Bot) Can you build a robot that stands on two wheels without falling? Students will explore the "Inner Ear" of robotics (the Gyro sensor). The Challenge: Coding human-like "reflexes" to keep the robot perfectly upright. The Skill: Learning how robots use "Feedback Loops" to fix their own mistakes in real-time. Week 3: The Robotic Mimic (The Copycat Hand) Step into the future of remote-controlled tech! We will build a wearable "controller" that communicates with a robotic hand. The Challenge: When you move your hand, the robot follows. The Skill: Mapping and "Scaling"—teaching a robot to translate your human movements into mechanical action. Weeks 4, 5, & 6: The Ultimate Dragster (The Speed Challenge) We save the biggest build for last! This three-week deep dive focuses on raw power and precision engineering. The Challenge: Building a massive, high-speed vehicle that can handle the torque of its own motors. The Skill: Students will master Gear Ratios (trading power for speed) and Traction Control (coding the motors to accelerate smoothly so the wheels don’t spin out).
