Dive into the ultimate backyard pool party! This week is all about the cool blues of the water and the vibrant colors of summer. Your artist will spend the week constructing 3D sculptures, exploring aerial perspectives in painting, and designing functional summer decor. The Weekly Project Lineup: Paper Mache Pool Floaties: We kick off the week by building 3D miniature pool floaties—think classic pink flamingos, giant donuts, and colorful inner tubes. "Aerial Poolside" Painting: Using an bird's-eye perspective, artists will paint a vibrant poolside scene. This project focuses on composition as we paint a section of the sparkling pool and "furnish" the deck with miniature beach chairs and colorful summer towels. Custom Tassel Towels: In our fiber arts segment, students will use tactile materials to create miniature decorative towels, learning fringe-knotting and tassel-making techniques. Flip-Flop Door Hangers: To wrap up the week, we’ll create vibrant, mixed-media door hangers. Students will customize their designs with pool-themed patterns and integrated fibers to create a piece that's ready to hang at home. What to Bring: Dress for the Mess: We will be working with paper mache, acrylic paints, and heavy adhesives. Please wear clothes that are ready for a splash of color! Stay Hydrated: Please send a labeled water bottle with your artist each day.
