Service Description

Ages: FINISHED kg-6th grade Step right up! This week is all about the fun, bright colors, and magic of the carnival midway. Artists will spend the week building working 3D projects, exploring painting techniques, and customizing a few fun keepsakes to take home. Project Lineup: Wooden Ferris Wheel: We will build and assemble a functional, turning 3D Ferris wheel out of laser cut wood pieces. Kids will get to design and paint their ride with fairground patterns and bright colors. Mixed-Media Carousel Horse: Artists will create a beautiful carousel horse painting on an 11x14 canvas. We will be blending acrylic paints with a variety of mixed-media elements to make a fun, textured masterpiece. Light-Up Marquee Arrow: On Monday, kids will brainstorm and choose a custom name, word, or message for their sign. I will cut out custom wooden letters to fit, and the kids will paint them, mount them onto a wooden marquee arrow base, and add real, working marquee lights! Ceramic Popcorn Containers: To round out our carnival fun, we’ll be glazing ceramic popcorn containers. These will be fired in our studio kiln for a professional, glass-like finish, making them a completely functional keepsake. What to Bring: Dress for the Mess: We will be working with permanent paints, adhesives, and glazes. Please wear clothes that can get messy! Stay Hydrated: Send a labeled water bottle with your artist each day.
