April 8 & April 9 (Wed/Thu) Title: Tap Tap Tour & Shimmering Island Reliefs: A 2-Day Tactile Workshop Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Must attend both days) Age: Kg-6th grade Come explore the vibrant textures and traditions of the Caribbean! This workshop is all about the tactile experience of working with unique materials like metal and "tiny junk" collage pieces. Shimmering Island Reliefs: We’re investigating the physical properties of metal through tooling (bas-relief). Students will find their own rhythm as they manipulate metal to create 3D designs, celebrating the unique marks and textures they create. The Tap Tap Challenge: Inspired by the colorful buses of Haiti, kids will dive into a mixed-media "treasure hunt." Using found objects and "tiny junk," they’ll build a 3D collage that tells a story. It’s a lesson in imagination and seeing potential in everyday objects. The Art Lab Advantage: I am working for you to ensure a stress-free morning.
