Service Description
Build it. Code it. Watch it come to life! In this hands-on, beginner-friendly robotics class, kids will dive into real-world robotics using actual robots—no toy kits here! Students work in pairs to follow step-by-step directions to build four unique robots, each introducing new mechanical and coding concepts. Then, they'll take on a challenge to design and build a custom robot that can complete a task. Using a drag-and-drop coding platform, kids will learn the logic and structure behind programming in a fun, visual way—setting a strong foundation for future tech learning. They will also learn to build an program a remote control. Creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving are at the heart of every session. Perfect for curious minds who love to build, explore, and figure out how things work! More details: Skills Learned: Mechanical Assembly Basics – Students learn how to identify and connect motors, axles, gears, and frames, developing fine motor skills and spatial reasoning. Motor Control & Remote Operation – Practice programming robots for forward, backward, and turning movements, including adjusting speed and direction. Sequential Programming – Create simple code sequences that make robots perform predictable actions in the right order. Understanding Power & Motion – Explore how motor placement and power affect speed, torque, and balance. Building for Stability – Experiment with weight distribution and structural design to keep robots balanced while moving. Creative Problem Solving – The final “Build Your Own Robot” project encourages students to combine learned skills in an original design, requiring them to troubleshoot and improve their build. Collaboration & Communication – Students share ideas, test each other’s robots, and practice explaining their design choices.
