Beginning Robotics session B Ages 8+
Sensors and movement
Service Description
Beginning Robotics B No prerequisite – Beginning Robotics A and B can be taken in any order. This 6-week course continues our hands-on exploration of robotics, offering new builds and challenges that expand students’ understanding of how robots sense, respond, and move. Whether this is your child’s first robotics class or a follow-up to Beginning Robotics A, each week introduces a different project that invites creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving. Projects in this session include: Radar + Door Alarm: Students program a robot to detect movement and trigger a sound or light alarm using a distance sensor. Tilt-Controlled Car: By programming the robot to respond to tilt input, students explore how sensors and real-world motion can control a vehicle. Mousetrap Mechanism: Inspired by the classic game, this build introduces mechanical triggering systems and encourages inventive engineering solutions. Classic Bot: A reliable, multi-functional robot design that students can modify and test across different challenges. Snake Train: Students link robots to move together in a coordinated “train,” practicing sequencing and modular thinking. Each project is designed to build technical confidence while encouraging kids to think like engineers—asking questions, testing ideas, and improving their designs.
