📚 Art & Literacy: Storybook Studio (6)
early literacy and art 6 Sessions
Service Description
You are signing up for a pack of 6 art and literacy sessions that run April 17-May 22, 2026. This is a "course" and not a "punch card." Bring your favorite stories to life through process-based art. 🎨 This class is designed to build early literacy skills and fine motor strength in a way that feels like play. Each week, we dive into a high-quality picture book—ranging from seasonal favorites to academic themes—and use it as a map for our creative journey. 🗺️ What We Do We focus on the how of art rather than just the final product. Every session is built around the "Art Lab Way," where we practice: Making Marks ✏️: Experimenting with different tools to build pre-writing skills. Cutting & Gluing ✂️: Developing the hand strength needed for school success. Design Decisions 💡: Giving kids the chance to choose their own colors and patterns. Scaffolding for Every Age While these projects are perfect for ages 4–6, my background in education allows me to adjust the difficulty for every artist in the room: Preschoolers 🧸: Focus on tactile exploration with parent assistance. Older Students 🌟: Practice independent skills like complex cutting and painting. The Art Lab Promise 📖I choose books with beautiful illustrations and classic storytelling that avoid specific social/religious agendas. Whether we are matching the theme of a story or mimicking a specific illustration style, I am working for you and your kids to have the best possible experience! ✨
